Looking at Lombok land for sale? Thinking of buying land in Lombok and have a spare two minutes?

Here are our top tips to help you get started when considering Lombok land for sale:

1. Do it the legal way.

Understand the Indonesian property ownership structures available to foreigners, the steps that need to be followed to invest in land or property and the required licenses. Before buying land in Lombok, we always recommend that you seek the help of legal experts who can guide you through the process and undertake the required due diligence on your behalf. Doing this legal due diligence straight up, will give you the reassurance you need when looking at Lombok land for sale. Also don’t rely on Google to give you the answers to your questions! This just brings up a lot of contradictory and out of date information that will leave you more confused than when you started. 2. Don’t rush into things.

Take your time. Do your research. Look at the different options. While it’s an exciting time, make sure you take time to breathe and reflect. We’re on island time after all.

3. Deal with reputable people.

Its beneficial to deal with experienced and knowledgeable people on the ground. Look at any developers track record, ask questions, get their insight. We can help assist with putting you in touch with the most experienced property professionals in Lombok, just get in touch.

4. Ask questions about infrastructure.

Find out from the developer what infrastructure / services are already on the site (for example roads, electricity, water, drainage etc). If there is no infrastructure on the site, find out from the developer if this is included in the price you’re paying for the piece of land or whether its in addition. Infrastructure can get expensive so its important to know who will foot the bill. If the developer is providing the infrastructure / services, do your due diligence on the developer’s track record and make sure its drawn up into a contract with clear commitments and penalties should they fail to deliver.

5. Construct with caution and care.

If you’ve bought land in Lombok and are now looking at building your dream property or project, we have some extra advice for you. Building anywhere is a daunting task and can be stressful. Choosing an experienced contractor and project manager is essential, especially if you are not on the ground to manage the process (and we do recommend being here fulltime if constructing on your own). Buying via a managed estate may be a better consideration if you are not based full time in Lombok, taking away the stress of managing a build along with managing and maintaining your investment once it is complete.
